Later, we will get into writing and solving equations with variables.
Homework for the week: Monday: no school. Tuesday: Page 3, all Wednesday: Page 5, all Thursday: Page 10, all Friday: to be determined Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you had a restful and fun break.
This week we are wrapping up a mini-unit in which students are learning the basics of positive and negative numbers on a number line as well as how to plot points on the coordinate plane. All of our work is being done on IXL.com rather than a textbook. There is no homework for the week! Next week we will begin our pre-algebra unit, and we'll be back with a new book and homework every night. Welcome back! I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving break.
This week we will continue our exploration of operations with fractions and decimals. We will review division of fractions, then get into all four operations with decimals. As always, please let me know if you want any help with the homework, or tips on how to discuss math with them. [email protected] Homework this week... This week we will transition from our (long) unit on rate and ratio to a unit concerning 6th grade level math operations. This is mostly division! Students will be able to divide with fractions and mixed numbers as well as decimals.
